Carrier Agreement
Effective: April 26, 2026 · Version 1.0
This Carrier Agreement ("Agreement") is entered into between Passpost AS ("Passpost") and the individual registering as a Carrier on the Passpost Platform ("Carrier", "you"). It governs your participation as a Carrier and supplements the Passpost Terms of Service. By completing Carrier verification and accepting Tasks, you agree to be bound by this Agreement.
1. Carrier Status & Eligibility
1.1 Independent Contractor
You are an independent contractor, not an employee, agent, partner, or franchisee of Passpost. You retain full discretion over when, where, and how often you accept Tasks.
1.2 Eligibility Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Hold a valid government-issued photo ID;
- Possess an active, verifiable phone number;
- Have the legal right to work and travel in the relevant jurisdictions;
- Comply with all applicable laws governing the transportation of goods;
- Not be subject to any legal prohibition preventing you from carrying goods across relevant borders.
2. Verification Requirements
2.1 Mandatory Verification
Before claiming any Task, you must complete Passpost's three-step verification:
- ID Verification — submission and approval of a valid government-issued photo ID;
- Phone Verification — confirmation of your phone number via SMS code;
- Route Verification — confirmation of your intended travel route.
2.2 Accuracy of Information
You warrant that all information provided is accurate, complete, and current. False or fraudulent information is grounds for immediate permanent suspension and may result in legal action.
2.3 Re-verification
Passpost may request re-verification at any time when your route, location, or personal details change materially.
3. Accepting & Completing Tasks
3.1 Task Claiming
By claiming a Task, you enter a binding delivery commitment with the Sender, subject to this Agreement.
3.2 Pickup Obligations
- Arrive at the agreed pickup location at the agreed time;
- Verify the item against the Sender's description before accepting it;
- Photograph the item at pickup to document its condition;
- Obtain the Handover Code from the Sender to confirm pickup.
3.3 Delivery Obligations
- Deliver the item to the specified recipient at the agreed address;
- Photograph the item upon delivery;
- Obtain the recipient's Handover Code confirmation;
- Report any delivery issues immediately via in-app chat.
3.4 Handover Code
The Handover Code is the sole trigger for escrow release. You must not request or accept payment outside the Platform. Payout is released automatically upon successful confirmation.
3.5 Cancellations by Carrier
Once claimed, cancellation is strongly discouraged. Repeated cancellations may result in reduced Task visibility, rating penalties, and account suspension.
4. Carrier Conduct Standards
- Handle all items with reasonable care and in the same condition as received;
- Communicate exclusively through the in-app chat — never exchange personal phone numbers;
- Behave professionally toward all Senders, recipients, and third parties;
- Do not open, inspect, or tamper with sealed packages beyond standard condition documentation;
- Comply with all customs and border control requirements;
- Immediately notify Passpost if stopped or detained by authorities in connection with a Task.
5. Prohibited Items
You must refuse to carry any item you know or suspect to be prohibited under Passpost's Terms of Service, including illegal substances, weapons, hazardous materials, and sanctioned goods. Carrying prohibited items may result in criminal liability and immediate permanent suspension.
6. Compensation & Payouts
6.1 Carrier Reward
Compensation is displayed prior to claiming and denominated in NOK. Passpost deducts its service fee before releasing the net reward.
6.2 Escrow Release
Payment is released within 24 hours of successful Handover Code confirmation by the recipient.
6.3 Disputed Tasks
If a Task is disputed, payout may be withheld pending Passpost's dispute resolution process.
6.4 Taxes
You are solely responsible for reporting and remitting all taxes applicable to your earnings, including income tax and VAT where applicable.
7. Insurance & Liability
7.1 Carrier Liability
You are responsible for items from pickup confirmation until delivery confirmation, and liable for loss, theft, or damage due to your negligence or misconduct.
7.2 Insurance
Passpost does not provide insurance for Carriers or items in transit. You are strongly encouraged to obtain courier or transit insurance.
7.3 Force Majeure
You are not liable for delivery failures caused by events beyond your reasonable control, provided you notify Passpost promptly.
8. Ratings & Performance
- Suspension when average rating falls below 3.0 / 5.0;
- Removal for substantiated complaints regarding conduct, honesty, or item handling;
- High-rated Carriers feature more prominently in Task search results.
9. Suspension & Termination
Passpost may suspend or terminate your account for breach of this Agreement, failed re-verification, prohibited items, illegal activity, or sustained low ratings. You may close your account by emailing legal@passpost.io.
10. Confidentiality
You agree to keep confidential any non-public information about Passpost's operations, technology, pricing, or business strategy. This obligation survives termination.
11. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by Norwegian law. Disputes shall be resolved in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions of the Passpost Terms of Service.
